John Yun is a New York-based music director and pianist and is currently the associate conductor for Hell's Kitchen - The Alicia Keys musical. He was recently the associate music director for Broadway productions of Bob Fosse’s Dancin’, as well as Tina: the Tina Turner musical. John has worked professionally in a wide range of music styles and is frequently engaged for broadway productions, concerts, masterclasses, collaborative projects, new musical workshops, studio recordings and song coaching. Recent projects include music consulting for the 2024 production of Cats at the Perelman Performing Arts Center in New York, playing NBC’s 2023 Rockefeller Tree Lighting Ceremony with Keke Palmer and Adam Blackstone, conducting for the Leonard Bernstein foundation & MTI’s new West Side Story 20-piece orchestra score rework, playing keyboard for Disney’s Zombies 3 music video with Meg Donnelly and Milo Manheim, as well as other studio recording projects. 2021 included performances on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, as well as the 74th Tony Awards. John has conducted performances in over 20 countries and is also a coffee nerd. This October, John will music direct a concert at Birdland with Amanda Green and friends, as well as the new musical "The Hills Are Alive" at Manhattan School of Music in 2024 among several other developmental projects.
